The Hard Power of Hard Technology: TZTEK Empowers the Upgrade of Optical Communications Industry
Recently, China Central Television’s Finance Channel (CCTV-2) aired a special report focused on development opportunities within the optical communication sector amid the AI boom and groundbreaking innovations by China’s hard-tech enterprises.
As a key equipment provider in the AI supply chain, TZTEK was invited for an interview to show how its high-precision measurement equipment supports the manufacturing of high-speed optical modules and bolsters the construction of AI computing infrastructure.
AI Boom Drives Booming Growth of Optical Communication Industry
With the rapid acceleration of large model training, AI inference, and data center construction, global demand for computing power is surging. This has triggered a new wave of opportunities for the optical communications industry. As core components for high-speed interconnects in data centers and AI servers, optical modules are rapidly upgrading toward faster speeds(such as 800G and 1.6T), and moving into large-scale deployment.
Driven by the dual trends of increasing speeds and accelerating adoption of Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) technology, optical modules are evolving toward smaller form factors, higher integration, and more complex packaging. Manufacturing precision has become a critical factor affecting product performance, yield rates, and delivery capabilities. Against this backdrop, high-precision inspection equipment is increasingly vital, serving as a foundational capability to ensure high-quality manufacturing and support industrial upgrading.

Precision Measurement Empowers High-Speed Optical Module Manufacturing
To meet the stringent requirements for precision and consistency in high-speed optical modules, TZTEK draws on over two decades of technical accumulation to develop full-process ultra-precision measurement solutions from R&D through mass production. Represented by the VMU high-precision video measuring machine, TZTEK integrates high-resolution optical imaging, AI intelligent algorithms and spectral confocal sensing technology to achieve accurate inspection of key dimensions and assembly precision in optical modules.
During the CCTV interview, Xu Xin, Technical Director of TZTEK, introduced that the VMU video measuring machine reaches a maximum magnification of 600× with measurement accuracy of 1.4 μm. Equipped with high-definition industrial cameras and intelligent edge-detection algorithms, even subtle structural features and process defects in optical module components can be precisely identified.

The system performs non-contact, automated measurements of critical parameters, including housing dimensions, PIN postioning, internal step heights, flatness, and chip mounting accuracy. It maintains a false detection rate below 0.02% and supports batch continuous measurement and full-process quality traceability, providing reliable support for the scaled manufacturing of high-speed optical modules.
Serving Industry Leaders, Sharing Growth Opportunities
During the interview, Xu Xin noted that demand for precision measurement equipment in the optical communications sector has doubled, with TZTEK's relevant product shipments hitting approximately 300 units per month. Rising industry prosperity and released downstream demand are unlocking new growth opportunities for the enterprises.
Backed by robust technical prowess and stable product performance, TZTEK's equipment has been widely deployed by industry leaders such as Innolight, Eoptolink, and TFC Communication, establishing strong market competitiveness in precision optical communication measurement.

Meanwhile, TZTEK’s newly developed in-line metrology and inspection equipment has completed prototype validation and been officially delivered to top industry clients. It delivers 100% full inspection of critical dimensions and appearance defects for next-generation optical communication products.
Relying on high-precision vision and AI algorithms, the system is deeply integrated into the production line tempo, offering fully automated, uninterrupted inline inspection. Compared to traditional offline, standalone inspection methods, this next-gen solution boosts production efficiency by over 10 times.
This technical breakthrough aligns with the multidimensional demands of mass production for high-speed optical communication products—meeting rigorous requirements for inspection efficiency, process consistency, and quality control. It provides essential support for customers building high-tempo, high-yield smart production lines.
Empowering AI-Era Infrastructure with Hard Tech
From large model training to AI servers, and from data center networks to high-speed optical modules, computing power competition in AI-era relies not only on advanced chips but also on robust, high-quality manufacturing systems.

Adhering to its dual-core strategy of "Artificial Intelligence + Precision Opto-Mechatronics," TZTEK continues to drive innovation in AI-powered metrology and inspection technologies. Moving forward, TZTEK will remain focused on the AI industrial chain, facilitate industrial upgrading via high-end equipment, and provide solid backing for infrastructure development in the AI era.
